"Hello to the Burren Smokehouse -
A quick note of thanks for the shipment of salmon. It arrived on the doorstep in terrific shape in time for my husband's birthday. My 4 year old insisted on "breakfast for dinner" so that he could have a bagel, cream cheese and pieces of salmon!
We found you on a trip in 2001 when we toured a bit following a wedding on the Dingle Peninsula. We stopped in to taste and you were playing a CD from a favorite musician we had followed in college - Luka Bloom. Ironically he was playing in town that night - so we not only got fabulous salmon but a terrific musical experience. Thank you for those memories. Our best to you - "

"I just want you to know what an extraordinary performance UPS delivered in getting our package to us. There was apparently a mechanical problem with the airplane in Cologne, Germany, followed by adverse weather conditions, and it was substantially delayed in leaving Germany. You can follow the history of the package by clicking on the tracking information that appears below and then clicking on "view package progress." When you see all the delays that took place, you will be amazed to learn that the package arrived as scheduled on Thursday, July 3, even though I had received notification that delivery was going to be delayed until Monday, July 7 (due to the Friday holiday and the weekend). When I got that notification, I was in a panic. I am certain the fish would have spoiled if delivery had been held up for that long. I am happy to report that everything arrived in perfect condition. I really don't know how UPS managed to pull this off, but there were some very happy (and relieved) people here in Maine when that package arrived! (I have been ordering salmon from you at Christmas for years, and suspect the odds would be much better in the winter if something like this should occur. In the summer, though, this could have been a disaster!) Just wanted you to know that you have chosen a good carrier to deliver your products. I remain impressed and amazed at how they were able to get this package to us as originally scheduled.
(...) I only wish I had extolled the quality of your delicious salmon a bit more when I wrote (about the extraordinary performance by UPS)! We have been spoiled for any other salmon over the many years we have been ordering from the Burren Smokehouse (since 1995 when my husband and I first happened upon your facility in Lisdoonvarna on our first trip to Ireland). I've also converted a number of people at my office as well as members of my family into Burren Smokehouse salmon lovers. We're like a little Burren Smokehouse cult here in Maine!"

We did so enjoy our trip to Ireland, and our visit to the Burren Smokehouse was a highlight. I am certain that I will order again in the future---and hope to return to Ireland and the Burren again soon."
