Our Visitors Centre was established in 1995, to create a window for our own products and other local gourmet products and crafts. It has become a popular tourist attraction in the North County Clare area and welcomes over 30,000 visitors from all over the world each year.
Call into the Burren Smokehouse Visitor Centre and get a tasting of our Burren smoked salmon. You can discover mosaics inside and outside our shop, and look at the first kiln we used when we first set up the Burren Smokehouse.
Free parking available, as well as access and facilities for the disabled.
We are passionate about our local and Irish foods that you can buy in our gourmet shop. Our range includes
- our own smoked organic salmon, smoked mackerel, trout; we only use fish caught or grown in Ireland.
- Irish craft products, gifts,beauty products and clothes;
- delicacies like jams, chocolates, biscuits, fruit wine from County Clare, mead, seaweed products, seasonings, honeys;
- and locally produced dairy, goat and sheep cheese specialities.
We offer a world wide mail order service in our visitor centre and on our website – pick from our wide range of products and have it shipped to yourself or your friends and family as a souvenir from Ireland.
Get a tasting of our smoked salmon and watch a DVD presentation about the smoking process (free of charge) – available in English, German, French, Italian and Dutch. Feel free to ask us any questions you may have, we will be happy to answer them for you.
Our Visitor Centre is open all year round, and these are our OPENING HOURS:
January & February: 11am to 4pm
March & April: 10am to 4pm (11am to 4pm on Sundays)
May & June: 9am to 5pm (Sundays 10am to 6pm)
July & August: 9am to 6pm (Sundays 10am to 6pm)
September & October: 10am to 5pm (Sundays 11am to 5pm)
November & December: 10am to 4pm
We are open for group bookings all year round.
