Salmon fit for Presidents

Burren smokehouse salmon at the Irish EmbassyMichael D Higgins was in Paris for a presidential visit at the beginning of this week. So was our Burren Smoked Salmon!

Included in his programme in France was a conference on “Defining Europe in the year of the European citizen” in the famous Sorbonne University with Mr Jacques Delors,  former EU Commission President, and Mrs LEMARDELEY, President of the Sorbonne University, along with other guests. This is in keeping with Ireland holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union for the first half of 2013.

There were several receptions scheduled including one at the Irish Embassy on 19 February 2013, organised by the Irish Ambassador to France Mr Paul Kavanagh for the Irish community in France for which the salmon from Burren Smokehouse was chosen to feature on the menu.Thereze Leduc from Tradext – our French partner in the North of France – organised the supply of the salmon on request by Bord Bía.
