Gold Medal at Great Taste Awards 2012

Limoncello Dwersteg Burren Smokehouse gravadlax salmon We did it again – our latest creation Burren Smoked Irish Organic Gravadlax with Limoncello won a 1* Gold Medal at the Great Taste Awards 2012!

It is a funny story how we got the idea of marinating our organic salmon with the lemon liqueur. It so happened that when at the world’s biggest organic fair, Biofach, in Nuremberg/Germany in February of this year, Karin got to talk to the owner of “Dwersteg”. It turned out that they are one of the first manufacturers worldwide to produce finest liqueurs and spirits organically.

Mrs Teriete was standing in the queue of the on-site restaurant behind her and then asked her if she would share her table as the restaurant was very full. They got talking about their respective lines of business, and agreed that lemon and smoked salmon go really well together.

The rest, as they say, is history …
