The January hibernation period is over – the Burren Smokehouse is out and about again to connect with the broader public. Here are some events we will be taking part in and which might be accessible for you. We would love to meet you there!
On 4th February, we will be attending the Searson’s wine tasting for chefs. It takes place in the Four Season’s Hotel in Dublin. We will provide salmon tastings for this occasion.
On 5th February, the very interesting and versatile Galway Foodie Forum will be held at GMIT (Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology). There will be cookery demos, chef competitions, talks and discussions, and of course Burren Smokehouse salmon to be tasted.
The next day, on 6th February, Birgitta will be offering tastings at the Avoca shop at Malahide Castle, Back Road, Malahide/Dublin. She would love to meet you there!
In the middle of January, a new Supper Club in Dublin was inaugurated. Birgitta and Dermot Walsh from B & D Bakery in Waterford gave a talk and tasting of their wares at the Hatch & Sons at St. Stephen’s Green. They did not only talk about their products but also about the challenges that artisan producers face in a world dominated by global brands. Afterwards there was be a delicious dinner to be had with Beef & Guinness Stew, Glenilen icecream with apple and berry crumble. Lucky those who were able to attend!
